Add a timer to collection pages or the password page
Applies to: TreStack Timer
Updated: 5 November 2026
- Shows: Top of collection pages, or the password page
- Per page: One landing timer in the automatic spot
A landing page timer sits at the top of the page content on your collection pages, or on your password page. Like a bar, it can carry a button.
Set it up
- Check that the app embed is on. The app Home shows its status, with a button that opens the theme editor at App embeds.
- Create a timer and pick the landing page type.
- On the Content tab, write the text, set the countdown and choose what happens once it ends.
- For a call to action, add a button, which links to your home page by default, or make the whole bar clickable.
- On the Design tab, pick a preset and adjust it in the live preview.
- On the Placement tab, choose where it shows: all collection pages, chosen collections, the password page, or a custom position. Choose this first, because changing the placement clears the collections and exclusions chosen for the old one.
- With all collection pages, exclude the collections that should not show it. With chosen collections, add them from the Shopify picker.
- Choose Publish.
Check it on your store
Open a collection the timer targets, in a normal browser window and on a phone: the timer sits at the top of the page content. Then open a collection it does not target. For the password page, open your store in a private window while the password is on.
Good to know
- One landing timer per page. A timer on chosen collections beats an all collections timer on the same page.
- Somewhere else on the page? Choose Custom position. The Add app block button then opens the theme editor on a collection page, as in Place a timer anywhere with an app block.
Every landing placement and the priority rules are in Placement, countries, and translations.
Schedule a timer to start later
Publish a timer now and keep it out of sight until its start time, then check that it appears when it should.
Place a timer anywhere with an app block
Set a timer to Custom position, add the app block from the app, paste the Timer ID, and move the block where you want it.
