Schedule a timer to start later
Applies to: TreStack Timer
Updated: 5 November 2026
- Starts: At the time you set
- Before then: Out of sight on the storefront
- Clock: Your shop timezone
A scheduled start keeps a timer out of sight until its start time. You can set up a sale ahead, publish it, and let it appear on its own.
Set it up
- Create the timer and set its text and countdown on the Content tab, its design on the Design tab, and where it shows on the Placement tab.
- Set the scheduled start to the date and time the timer should appear. Like every date in the app, it is in the timezone set in your Shopify settings.
- Choose Publish.
Check it on your store
Before the start time, the timer does not show on the storefront, and a theme preview shows no timer either. If the timer is in an app block, the block shows a hint that there is nothing to show yet, which only you see. After the start time, reload the page: the timer appears. A publish reaches the storefront after a short delay.
Good to know
- Recurring timers have their own start. A recurring timer can start today or on a date, as in Run a recurring daily or weekly timer.
- To see it before the start, use the live preview in the editor, which uses the same rendering code as the storefront. More on testing out of sight is in Development stores and theme previews.
The scheduled start and the countdown modes are in TreStack Timer, setup and settings.
Give each visitor their own countdown
Run a fixed number of minutes for each visitor, kept in their browser, and know what starts it again and what happens when it ends.
Add a timer to collection pages or the password page
Show a landing page timer at the top of all or chosen collection pages, or on your password page, with a button or a clickable bar.
