Pausing, cancelling and uninstalling
Applies to: TreStack Bundles, every plan
Updated: 11 October 2026
- Manual pause: None, unpublish a deal instead
- Cancel: Every deal unpublished, no refund
- Uninstall: Hidden app products stay in your store
When deals pause
"Paused" is set by billing, never by hand. Your deals pause when:
- Your plan ended outside the app: Shopify ended or froze the subscription, for example after a charge was not paid.
- A development store went live without a plan. Development stores use the app free until they become a paying Shopify store.
- An overage on a yearly plan was not approved within 7 days (see Going over your plan).
While paused, every published deal disappears from your storefront, its Shopify discount is removed, and its status in the deal list is Paused. The admin stays open: you can edit, unpublish and delete deals, and every page shows "Your bundle deals are paused" with a "Review plan" button. The Plans page says what to do: choose a plan, approve the overage charge, or both.
Once you choose a plan or approve the overage, the paused deals come back by themselves. A deal whose discount cannot be created again, usually because the store already has 25 active automatic discounts, returns to draft instead. Home then shows "A deal was unpublished" naming the deal; make room (deactivate another discount) and publish it again.
There is no manual pause. To stop one deal, turn off its Published switch in the deal list or choose "Save as draft" in the editor (see Creating, publishing and managing deals).
Cancelling a plan
On the Plans page, choose "Cancel plan". The "Cancel your plan?" window asks for a reason: "Not using this app anymore", "It's too expensive", "It doesn't work properly" or "Other" (the last two ask for a few words). Choose "Cancel and unpublish all bundle deals" to confirm, or "Keep plan".
- Every deal is unpublished and its discount removed. The deals themselves stay in the app as drafts.
- Shopify stops billing you for the app. There is no prorated refund: charges made so far stay on your Shopify invoice.
- An overage you owe on a yearly plan stays owed, and must be approved before deals show on a new plan.
- The app opens on the Plans page again until you choose a plan. Choosing one does not republish the deals; publish the ones you want.
Uninstalling
Uninstall from Shopify admin: Settings, Apps and sales channels, TreStack Bundles, Uninstall.
What stops at once. Shopify removes the app's embed, its discounts and its cart transform, so the widget and every deal's discount stop straight away. The app never edited your theme files, so there is no code to remove from your theme. Uninstalling also cancels your subscription, and an overage still waiting for approval is not charged.
What stays in your store. Some features need a product in your store: the app creates one unlisted product per personalisation fee and per mix and match bar, with the product type "Bundles app item". The app cannot remove them after it is uninstalled, so they stay in your product list. They are unlisted, so shoppers do not find them, but you can archive or delete them yourself. Do not remove them while the app is installed: a deal that needs one creates it again. Images you uploaded in the editor are in your own Shopify Files and stay there too.
What happens to your data. The app's access to your store is deleted at once and its storefront pixel stops. 48 hours after the uninstall, Shopify sends a shop redaction request, and the app deletes everything about your store: deals, translations, statistics, order lines and feedback. Backups roll off within 30 days after that. See Privacy, data and sub-processors.
Reinstalling. Within those 48 hours, your deals are still in the app when you install it again. After that, you start from nothing. Either way you choose a plan again, with only the days left of your first trial, and the app reads back the last 60 days of orders so analytics cover the gap.
Uninstalling cleanly, in four steps.
Note your deals
The app has no deal export. If you may come back after 48 hours, take screenshots of the deals you want to rebuild.
Uninstall in Shopify
Settings, Apps and sales channels, TreStack Bundles, Uninstall. The subscription ends with it.
Check the storefront
Open a product that had a deal, in a private window. The widget is gone, and the cart prices items without the deal's discount.
Archive the hidden products
In Shopify admin, Products, filter by product type "Bundles app item" and archive or delete what is listed.

Going over your plan
What happens when a 30-day period's added revenue passes your plan's limit: the automatic upgrade charge on monthly plans, the overage per started $100 on yearly plans, and approving either in Shopify.
