Combine a deal with discount codes

Let shoppers use a Shopify discount code on top of a deal: the one setting to check on the code, how to test it at checkout, and what happens when two discounts reach the same item.

Every deal's discount is set to combine with product, order and shipping discounts. Shopify combines two discounts only when each allows the other's kind, so whether a code works next to a deal depends on the code.

Set it up

Leave the deal as it is. There is no combination setting in TreStack Bundles, and no deal can be set to stand alone.
In Shopify admin, open Discounts and open the discount code shoppers will use.
In the code's combination settings, allow it to combine with product discounts. A deal's discount is a product discount, so this is the one that matters.
Save the code.

Check it on your store

Add an offer from the widget on a product page, open the cart and go to checkout. Enter the code. Both should show: the deal's label next to the discounted line, and the code. Use the cart checkout rather than Buy it now when the offer has more than one line.

If the code is refused, open it again in Shopify admin and check that it may combine with product discounts.

Good to know

One product discount per line. If the code is itself a product discount on the same item as the deal, Shopify decides which one applies to that line. They do not add up on it.
Order and shipping codes go on top. An order code or a free shipping code is worked out on the line prices after the deal.
The app makes no codes. Each published deal is one automatic discount, so shoppers have nothing to type for the deal itself.
Two deals on one product clash the same way. At checkout every published deal runs its own discount, so keep one published deal per product.

Move the widget or show it in another section

Place the deal widget where you want it on the product page, or show a product's deal on another page such as the home page, with the Bundle deal app block.
